How We Help Young People
Counseling can help children and teens build coping skills, handle school stress and social pressure, work through grief or big family changes, and communicate better at home. Sessions are shaped around the young person, with parents involved in a way that fits the family.
For younger children, play therapy (available at our Ottawa office) uses play to help kids express feelings and practice new skills. Teens often work with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) or Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills.
